no offense im just pointing it out so you can edit if u want and like i said if you wait a few weeks ill have a full review on the gtc tc i supose you could make your own tc but you would need a ful fledged macheine shop and lots and lots of time plus it may endup costing ou more

Making your own probably isn't worth the risk of it failing due to being 110% eyeballed. I found an old CAT99 TC on CL for $40. It may need a spring, snap ring, and buttons but that totals like $15 plus shipping. A belt is also a need, $30, but I'm still coming out way ahead of a new unit on a budget, time to quote grandpa, tighter than a bull's a$$ in fly season.

I agree. My family only drives hondas and other foreign cars. You just gotta know whats good and what isn't. I'd take a Craftsman tool over a Japanese one, but I'd take a Japanese Mitsu over an American made car.

we own 1 60 series land cuiser 2 70 series 1 100 series 1 200 series
make note the 60 series is still working and is treated like **** as a farm vehical and use to do beach fishing without a wash
the 200 series is already haveing gearbox issues

Ya I drive a toyota corolla xrs and I know they had that issue with peoples gas not stopping, but other then that this car will last forever, if it doesn't meet a tele-phone pole cause it will not stop....

But like one of the post that someone made here, all companys will get hit for something at some point.

But back to the TC, I am the one that will buy a aftermarket one and use it, cause I have faith it will do me good!

Now back off topic. I was to inherit dad's 99 Mitsu Galant, 4 cylinder with good giddy up and go, but a Canadian decided to crest a hill and turn across on coming traffic without yielding. Well dad t-boned the crap out of his rented GMC Yukon, trashed the radiator, bumper quarter panels, lights, etc and due to age it was easily totaled. So now I don't have a car.

that stinks! homeown if you feel brave enough and wish to help me in my search for a good tc you may want to try this one http://www.certifiedpartscorp.com/ i dont know how they could mess up (except for the fact there not using the alminium back plate comet was using) of course i dont see how you can mess up a tc. even if something is made in china that doesent mean its bad, honda has parts for there gx engines made in cchina, there just made to spec of honda, yes it could be bad for the economy but its probably being made by robots in the first place, and the main office (where they hire people) is in america(well hondas office is prob in japan, but other companies offices are in america).

Ok I will check it out later, and you say there is no back plate, cause I am sure I can use comet one can't I, and if not then the plate are for safely... what I mean by that, is the tc doesn't get all messed with dirt and what not....?

oops im sry i didnt notice it was 1" bore, maybe theyl have one in 3/4" bore by the time your redy to use it. like i said you dont have to buy this tc but it would be helpful to people if they knew which tc to get and which onenot to get.

Ya that is what they have, but isn't that site usa? So after shipping and the change over it will be more, I think?

Unless you're lucky enough to find a NOS unit, you won't be getting a TAV at Princess. Since Comet took a nosedive, they haven't hooked up with a new supplier for torque converters. No listing in the newest catalog either. It would be smart to grab the SKU number out of the old catalog and call the PA distribution center in Winnipeg and see if they've got one sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

As far as that centrifugal clutch goes, don't confuse yourself. It is only a centrifugal clutch. It cannot be made into any form of torque convertor. Sorry.
