Nope the seller had no clue. He was very very close though. After I got it home and was doing my search. (I did not know what I had) I found the seller joined Minibuggy dot net. He starteda thread about what type of gas to use. And he only posted a pic of the carb. Not a full shot of the buggy. So he was close to finding out what he had.
He said he got it for $600 in his thread.
It took me a few days to find out what I had as well. The only thing that is missing is the original radiator, tires, nerf bars and belts. Besides that it is complets as it was in the 80's. The rear works schocks need rebuilt. I have only ridding it a few times on flate ground. It has crazy low end power. Sounds like a big bore two stroker for sure. I have not opened the motor. But the Ody is a confirmed open class racer.(suspension) They said 100% chance it is an 360cc Cammex engine with all the works. I was told around 55hp. Was also told many times that in the early 80's this would have been the very best in the Ody world. I was able to track down the original frame builder but not the driver. These frames were built by the same guy and then sold to racers. I got lucky finding a 30 year old machine almost complete.
I can't wait to get the shocks fixed and open this thing up. Next spring I am going to do a full restore on it. Powder coat and the whole nine yards. I am working on a sled Ody conversion right now. After that I am going to start on another Racer I picked up. This one does not have rear suspension so it was a class 2 racer. It has a an Ody bottom end but a 73 CR250 jug and head. DG pipe. I have not drove this one for the crank is bent. It starts and runs but you can see it bent bad. Here are some pics of the blue one. I did some trading for this one. About an $500 valued moped. A $200 valued enduro 100cc dirt bike. And $280 cash.
