when posting video links on here, don't post the link that youtube first gives you. instead click on the link, and you will see that the URL at the top of the page has changed, and has the word "watch" in it. that is the link that you want to copy and paste. it will embed the video right into the comment. try it.

looks like fun! would like to see some more videos taken by another person of you riding the kart. watching the dirt and cloudy horizon is cool, but doesn't show us how the kart is performing and handling.

I have friends that are building karts right now and then I will be able to post some of us racing the kart handles excellent not because I built it and it rips pretty good I won't bore you with any more helmet cam videos but I do have alot of racing experience in off road racing and I can honestly say the kart is a blast to drive and I cant wait until my friends and I start racing them together I forgot my GPS yesterday I was going to use it to check the karts topend speed maybe then one could relate to the speed that I am going.

I have seen some of your videos like the one when you're in the desert testing the go cart out

Yeah I have more wankel and piston engines to go on the kart that I will testing and improving on the performance of the engines and we will be racing them in the desert too!

My friend and I drove the kart all day on the lake bed.
We made a big course and burnt the rear tires up we had a blast!

rotary powered cart is waaaay cool

Only problem i can see is you want to make sure you have a very good air cleaner/filter on it.Any fine dust/grit etc. that gets through it will take the seals out of it quickly.Very nice design on the frame by the way.Wankels were used on 3-4 other brands too. I'm a vintage sled fan[atic] also.Arctic-cat,Skiroule,and a couple others used these engines too.The biggest problem was the noise and exhaust emissions in cars and motorcycles.Sleds weren't too closely regulated as far as noise and emissions back then. The reason the early sleds used a small carb was because these motors will turn 10,000 rpm.Be very careful to make sure you have some space around the exhaust/muffler areas.Temps on the exhaust on these are very high. I have not seen it,but i was told if the exhaust pipe is glowing cherry red the motor is running great!! These things will run very high rpm's,all day too.I have built several sled powered carts over the years and want to build at least one more,[i'm 54 yrs old].I'll see if i can dig up some pics of my old carts.

Your right about the dust I am savvy about dirt entry I build alot of engines for desert racers and I myself am a motorcycle desert racer and I have seen alot of engines destroyed by dirt and dust ingestion I use foam air filters with Bel-Ray Foam Filter Oil I have found that air filter oil to be the best the worst air filter oil is No Toil I have seen and rebuilt alot of bike engines that the person has been using that oil on their air filter desert racing is super dusty alot of the time and the air filters can get packed with dust!
I have other wankels from different sleds and they are ready to go on the kart at any time and I will be using them the largest one is an OMC 538cc engine and depending on which ignition is used the engine can produce either 35 or 45 hp in the stock form.
I would like to see some pictures of your old karts that would be interesting and by the way I have one year on you! Lol take care.

:QUOTE=Kelly Wood;270839]Love the vids... we gotta get together somewhere man. Anywhere else closer that you know of we could meet up?

Kelly[/QUOTE]

I will drive if you want to go with me out there one day in a couple of weeks then we can trade off driving each others karts
everwhere else close is too small and too many people around to hit I like to go where you can do what you want without being restricted of what you can do next time I go out I am going to run with open exhaust and check my lap times against what we were doing that wankel is one loud mutha without a muffler on it and I know it will run better uncapped we will make this happen I do have a guy that might race against you he has a 9 hp Robin Subaru on my type of frame and I am trying to talk some more guys into building ultility engine powered karts so we could run different classes other karts are still being built but they are getting done we do have actors in this!

That engine has been on ebay for some time I would not worry about the broken manifold it could be repaired I would be worried about the internal componets of the the engine that model is really hard to find parts for and keep in mind it is only 6.5 hp which would work with the correct gear reduction there are other ones that come up on ebay from time to time they are really cool engines and if I did not have a bunch of them and the price was right and I knew that engine was good I would buy that one just to have it.
