Well Sid if you didn't like that your going to hate this.:surrender:

No it's pity, not hate ;)
I think I know what happened, you got impatient and rushed
Or worse, your kids started to bother you
"we there yet?, is it done dad? now?.. how about now?..."
And you wanted to have it done.. NOW.

Don't get me wrong it's at least 10 times better than everything I could have done with sheet metal.
But I'm quite sure you could have done better than that.
With just a little more patience :(

PS I think you will get back to this sooner or later, so no big deal

Been too long since i posted been too busy with the day job. I have petty much finished the body. I put it all back together and found that the motor I had planned on using is too small. After pricing everything up I have decided to go petrol. I need to change the rear drive brake arrangement as it was 1 wheel drive and 1 wheel brake. Need better braking and I would prefer to have 2 wheel drive. So I have bought a rear axle for a mini quad and am sorting out mounting it to my wheels. I will update with pics soon.

Tony, be aware that using a solid axle will drastically affect the steering; perhaps you should try to source a small diff axle; small riding mowers are a great source...

I have looked at a few mower boxes but nothing that I could get to fit. I understand the steering will be an issue but its the easy option :idea2:

As I have said the little bus was too heavy for the 250 watt motor that I had fitted so it will now be fitted with a 50cc petrol engine. First off I have to install on axle with sprocket and brake disk.

The original plan had just bolts as axle as the wheels had the sprocket and brakes on them.
Cut that out.

Put this in

Just a matter of fitting the engine then.

I have to sort the brakes and find a suitable tank then its prep time .. I was thinking about using a beetle washer bottle as the fuel tank.

  :drool5: :drool5: :devil2: SWEET!!!!!! Just needs a coat of paint and you'll be ready for the next local parade!!!! You might want to add some form of difficult to remove permanent ID to it though; that way if the worst case happened, you would be able to prove that it was yours and not the mouth breathers that wanted it more than you did.....:smiley_omg: :kewlsmiley:  :auto:

This kart is one of my favorites on this page. I would like to build one of approximately .75 scale.

OKay.. I got it... I somehow missed your post from may.. but that somehow made it perfectly clear (well to me)
what's it that I don't like about your front...

And best thing: it's fairly easy to fix.

Move the lights out.. I'd say about half their diameter;
that'd make the front MUCH more convincing!!

Again, I'm sorry for bothering you with this...
But this is a great kart, and you put in lots of love and effort..
and everyone can tell by looking at it.. it'd be a shame to have an uncanny face on something done so nicely otherwise.

But I copied a T1 front into your phote I hope you can see what I'm talking about.

Sorry Tony, but I like your kart too much to not notice ;)

I got a great idea (in my opinion, lol) for your exhaust /muffler system..... Minimal fab work, and it will drop the high pitch decibels that you're kids aren't use to..... I'm gonna draw it up for ya in a little bit and post it up. I think you will really like it...... I'm a vw fan myself......

Tony, you got skills, so this won't be a problem.....
Cut the header and twist the piece from the engine, 180*. Now reweld the header so it's now facing down and back, (as opposed to up and back as is) .Run that to a 2" or bigger piece of tube, with the dump in the center of the big tube. 6" from each end, you add 1"+ short tubes as the exit..... Just like the stock exhaust. From here back, you only see the big tube and the small tail pipes, just like the bus has....
