No Frackin In Denton County

No fracking in denton county! This was a picture I recently took on a flight home to the DFW airport; overlooking Denton County. Do you see all of those little patches of dirt? EVERY SINGLE ONE is a well site. You can even see FOUR on ONE FIELD! What a mess!

In addition to the ridiculous amounts of natural gas and condensate that is produced here in Texas from the Barnett shale formation, texas residents have experienced:

earthquakes: from fracking/high pressurization of waste water back into the wells
fire water: vocs/condensate (not water) becomes entrained in the water supply, which you can then light on fire out of your tap (Azle, TX) Not a big deal like some people play it out to be, but its still jacked up.
foundations moving Due to high pressurization of waste water back into depleted wells
unknown lasting consequences which we all know are going to happen.

Oil/Gas companies have acknowledged these things, and have basically said they need to 'wait and see' what is truly going on, meanwhile drilling more and more, pumping high pressure waste back into the wells, screwing up the water and land, trying to get away with as much as possible before the **** hits the fan.

Don't get me wrong, Dallas has profited a lot from this, but the expense to middle class homes and water has just been too much to put up with.

I wouldn't go that far, but when there is $$ to be made, a lot of willful blindness and greed sets in.

You forgot one important side effect Grant: making overnight millionaires out of redneck hicks....which wouldn't be so bad if they packed up the truck and moved to Beverly....

Yeah...it's really no joke....I thought it was great until all those hidden consequences came to light.....

And I agree....I think the worst is yet to come....

But I never found out....and you never really said...did the ban pass?
