It's not that we're rude or not willing to help but I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you want an opinion on that specific Margay or vintage karts in general?

That takes in a lot of ground, can you be a little more specific as to what info you're after?
Also, I believe the Margay is an SR 16.

The SR is a Sprint Kart (paved road course), could come with a 2 or 4 cycle engine.
A good solid kart.
I believe Birdfanatic has one for sale.

What is the price?
If you're asking if a 1983 kart is competitive
versus a 2015 kart, I'd say probably not unless you're an incarnation of Ayrton Senna.
If you're talking about vintage racing then I'd say give it a shot.

how much do you think a 1983 kart should go for?

C'mon man.....please fill out a profile location....value of karts is like real estate....(location,location,location.....)....

Welcome to the forum! ......And....anything in the world is what the buyer wants to pay and the seller wants to take.....but without a location....we can't even generalise.....

If you're asking about a price for a kart you're thinking about buying, we need to see pics if it and you need to tell us what the asking price is.
Your plans for the kart will be helpful as well.

Old/Vintage racing karts are great for restoring and putting the original engine, but if you want to drive it hard, I wouldn't recommend them vs modern karts because vintage karts are more delicate in a way, but driving moderately would be great if you want vintage kart. More modern racing karts, from the 1090's and up are designed for more powerful engines, like cr125 and kt100, they also handle better because their setup is softer than a vintage kart. Ex. A vintage kart would be firm through a corner vs a more modern kart that would be a little easier to control. Hope this helps your decision making process.

You could get the Margay he's talking about with a KT100 or a Parilla, it's a full fledged race kart perfectly capable of being raced hard.
There's vintage racing classes that are run as hard as anything modern.
As John said, there's a completely different driving technique utilized but as long as it was originally a race kart ( of whatever era ) and as long as it's structurally intact and safely built you can run it hard.
Just don't mistake a modified yard kart for a race kart, in that case you are asking for trouble.
"Vintage Kart" is like "Classic Rock and Roll" - just because it's old doesn't mean it's something special. Sometimes it's just old and that's all.
