Hey there, new to the forum. Can anyone identify this gem? Was my old man's and mine growing up. Now my kids have had their fun. Any thoughts?

If you wanted a better chance at a positive ID, you could remove the engine to see the whole bare frame, get some measurements of the frame (even lay down a tape measure along the length, width, etc then take photos with the tape in the shot), get some better photos of the overall length, side views, quarter views and do it in direct sunlight.

It definitely has some Rupp, Rupp Lancer, Dart Kart or Bug (Engineering) looks or just resembles other vintage karts from the 1960's.

I think it looks like a genuine Go-Kart 1200 (but what do I know?) but they all started to blend together after a while as the most efficient designs got copied and rehashed. Got any more history on the kart? That Chinese 212cc engine is basically sacrilege on such a kart. ...🤦‍♂️

Lol. Good starter for the kids. I've got an old McColloch also.

I thought it was a 1200 too. I can definitely get more pictures and better identifying measurements. Do you know where these things sell and what the value is? I've been searching but its a pretty small community. Thanks for the info, I really do appreciate it.

The value is ... whatever someone is willing to pay. 😉

If it is what I guessed it is, you will have to have documentation and all that to determine its true pedigree and to even come close to that sort of asking price or winning bid. And speaking of that price, that example above on BAT is not a restoration; that is a "custom" or resto-mod" for man cave purposes. There's no way they came polished out the wazoo like that from the factory. They were much more workman-like.
