from what i can tell, it just had a governor on the carb, and my throttle is linked right to the butterfly but it still tops out at xxxx rpms so wouldnt there still be that governor gear or whatever inside? i dont know much about that part. i need to get some photos up with the new burlap canopy on and when i get the headlights mounted. the canopy covers the engine area and above and behind the seat. you can somewhat see it in the video though.

aight, finally got the high power LEDs installed. these babies only pull 2 watts combined, so i wont be draining my battery anytime soon. bright as hell too. 150 degree beam coverage. keep in mind, these are being taken during the day, they are intense at night.

thanks! they are the 009 wide angle model high-powered leds

http://www.plasmaled.com/high_power_module.htm

i want to also get the 3 watt version of the 008 narrow beams as well for longer range. the 009s are very very bright and light up the road just fine in a 150 degree spread, but i would like to get the 008s now for whats further in front of me. the 009s are still insanely bright though. shipping was very fast, took like 4 days to get to me after i placed my order. i would highly recommend them as an alternative to trying to rig up some crazy alternator setup or having to charge yet another battery just to run lights for a limited amount of time. even with the two wide angled and two focused lights combined, its only pulling 8 watts! and being LEDs, they should last longer than i will probably have the kart, and dont have a filament that is susceptible to vibration and whatnot.

Kick _ss, Pickledchang! BIG THANKS for the link! My snowmobile engine puts out something like 40 watts, so it should run a set on the LowRider V2.0.... can't wait to get this all together!

40 watts is pretty good! you might actually be better off running halogen ATV fog lights (available at some sporting goods stores). they would probably be a little bit better then the LEDs, i think they pull 35 watts or something.

if you get the LEDs, you are going to want the wide angle and the narrow beam, or at least the narrow beam, if you are going to go much over 30.
