Why should I not use it with broken fins. It is going to take a lot of work to get another flywheel. Could I weld or bolt them back on-I still have the broken ones.

It will be horribly out of balance, it could also be cracked which could result in the flywheel exploding or the lack of balance could crack it. Don't weld or bolt them on, it will just compromise the structural integrity of the flywheel. Finding a flywheel in england is going to be tricky, if you can't find one then I might be able to find you one and send it to you (at your cost), I live in Australia where most mowers are Victas. Shipping would be quite expensive though.

How hould I go about making it a horizontal engine do I just need to turn the carburetter on its side as it is a two-stroke. Where could I get the two stroke oil in the south-east of England; would Halfords sell it?

Yep, just turn the carby, thats it. You should be able to get 2 stroke oil from any service station, bike shop or supermarket.

if the flywheel isn't cracked, you could break off some fins on the exact opposite side and try to balance it that way....you might be able to mount the flywheel on a tire balancing machine and find out exactly which ones to break off, or you could put epoxy like jb weld on it where the machine says it needs weights. weigh the broken off fins, then put that weight of epoxy on there! it might not work perfectly, and i'm sure somebody will think i'm bonkers for suggesting it, but you'd be surprised what you can rig to work, and after all, it's only a go kart! you most likely won't be depending on it to get you to work:cheers2:

Throttle control

Thanks thechief86 but i'm a bit confused with the throttle on my gokart. On the carburetter there is a cable that controls the engine speed and on the bevel gear box for the self drive system, there is a cable that controls if the engine is powering the wheels. Which is for the throttle and clutch. Should I have the two pedals side by side so when I press the accelerator the clutch is press at the same time. Should I use the bevel gearox at all? The engine is a two stroke so can be turned on its side. If I dont use the bevel gear box would it be best to use a cable or a chain? Also, shall I put this on the engines and clutches section.

Hopefully in the near future I will be doing this: :auto: With my gokart.

How would I remove the flywheel on a Victa engine?

Just undo the bolt in the starter cup, you'll need to put some rope down the spark plug hole to stop the engine from turning over. Once the bolt is off the flywheel just slides off, there's no need to hit it as Russ 2251 says, there is no taper on the crank.
