I use the quartz sand. You see it in ash trays all the time. Looks like white sand. $6 for a 40lb sack at my builder supply.

I have a blast cabinet but never use it. I just go outside. I like the pressure pot blasters better.

i dont know if someone has said this already but i have been told citrifigal clutches wont work on its side... there made for horizontal shaft engines

False...There is no reason why a centrifugal clutch wouldn't work vertically.
Some are directional, and can only be mounted on the engine with the sprocket facing out. But that's a completely different story.

I can't see why they wouldn't work. They use centrifugal force to engage, if you can keep it on the shaft and in alignment, the centrifugal force will still be there.

The only thing I will suggest is pay close attention to maintenance. Gravity will cause the clutch bell to constantly ride on it's end, instead of simply floating on the bushing. Keep in mind there is no thrust bearing there. So a couple extra drops of oil there every so often would likely help extend it's life.

Will it work in that orientation? Absolutely!

alright guyd i might fix the lawn mower actually, modify it of course, but heres the kart stuff.

got the bearings today.
