I'll get some more pics of it after paint. I don't think anyone cares about seeing it in bondo. lol

I think the motor is rebuildable but it'll have to wait a bit cause I'll be needing it running sooner than later. I've allready got the 6.5 clone and the body has been sanded and a thin layer of bondo to fill in and smooth it out some.

Yeah Mr. Electric is a big franchise. along with Mr. Appliance, Mr. Rooter, Air Serv and the Glass Doctor.

Right now Im having a hard time figuring out my wheel set up. I went to Northern tools today and they didn't have wheels that would work for me so I started looking around and I'm at a slight loss.

The origonal rims and tires are 6" (410x350X6) they were held on with "C" clips?. the drive wheel was missing but the other three are no good at all as I'd mentioned. I measure the axle and it's 3/4". most places I've looked has 5/8" id bearings.

So can you help me find a decent deal on a set of 4 wheels (with tires) and a drive set up? I've been reading like crazy but just can't grasp for whatever reason what to look for. I feel I'm over thinking this just a bit as I sometimes do.

maybe I'm just tired. :ack2:

3/4 screams riding mower rims. did this ever amount to anything?

how much room do you have when the body is on the frame? width wise?

I appreciate you all checking back with this.
Well shortly after I got it bondo'ed and sanded the "sponsor" backed out which put it on hold. Then I moved into a house that I've had to fix for the most of the year.

But I've been collecting parts to make it my way. Haha

I found a great deal on some wheels/tires and solid axle..$10 the tires/rims are larger sized so I'm making it an of roadish type of cart.. So I'll be welding a new frame for it. And found a china ATV motor and trans w/reverse 120cc that I'm going to try and fab in there..

But also found some other projects..
1st 1972 snapper mower paid $10 got it home charged the battery and started right up.. Carb needed cleaning but its runing nice just a bit ugly lol.

2nd carter bros 5hp single seat kart. Again it ran but needed just a bit of work. It had a small gas tank leak.. Traded a dishwasher for it that I got free and fixed with a small part I paid about $40 for.

3rd Manco 2 seater I got free. Needs a rear tire and of course the two front are bald. Got a new bowl for it yesterday and is now running but smokes like crazy when the accelerator is pushed.. Hoping it's not the piston rings. It's been sitting for a couple /few years but looks almost new. I ran out of daylight to figure why it's smokin??

takes me back 35 years ago seeing that exact go kart van as a prize in a ticket lotto at a local Fred Meyer store. I daydreamed about driving that around - to school, a trip across the country. It brings me back... I was 7-8 years old

sweet

I have the same van body except mine says " drink hi-c soft drinks". I use to demolish mobile homes for a company and that little made thru all of that punishment till i got to the front and ripped the floor off the frame and this white spot caught my eye. I figured if it made it thru all that it was something special. Im gonna turn mine into a mini full track like the tracks at the monster truck shows in the 80's. I measured 5 times and ill be able to shoehorn an small block ford v8 tranny and yoke to yoke to the rearend. But like you moneys tight and i have alot of fab work to do especially since im 6'4 .
