Okay, I am heading to Phoenix's Sky Harbor Air port in a few minutes to go home.
I have been in AZ for the last 5 days, man is it hot, so glad I moved away.....
Anyways while here I was hoping to find a great deal on tools, engine or parts.
I did find some deals but nothing worth shipping and paying the weight prices or since I flew Delta I have to pay for baggage.
I did almost but a 12 Ton HF pipe bender for $40 but the 83 lbs was a bit to much to to travel with with a family of 5 and a special needs child.

So I did the next best thing and found a bunch of good scrap metal at my in-laws construction site. 25 lbs worth:lolgoku:

Will post pics of my score when I get home.

I had to check the stuff over 7" long (square tubing and 1/4" plate, but I am going to hand cary about 10-12 lbs of 1/4 inch thick angle iron.
My family seems to think I am crazy and can't hand carry random metal items on the plane. I will show them:stir:

Well I got through security with my angled steel. The Tsa employee said as long it is not like a knife and can be misconstrued as a weapon we are ok.
I miss flying south west with my free bags. I thought we were flying SW on the way back an intended to have 50lbs of metal..

Well at least I got it home.

-The four pieces on left are 1/4" flat stock with bent rebar. I will probably weld those on my work station for hanging stuff or use the flat stock for making flanges

- then 1" square tube, because you could always use that :)

- two different diameter round tube

- either 1/8 of 1/16 thick u- channel

- two 1/4" thick brackets with pre drilled holes.

- 1/4" thick large angled

-1/4" flat bar

And some 1/8 inch thick angled

Not bad for free and no delivery charge :)

There is nothing like some free metal. I am surprided your tight airport security didn't say that you were going to do something unlawful with that angle iron :D

You brought "that" back with you? ! ? Hmmm I don't feel bad for keeping all the little scrap pieces I've stocked up on..... I'll keep a piece of 1" square tubing (or round) if it's more than 2" long...... :lolgoku: sometimes, depending on what I'm working on, I'll keep it as long as I can get an inch out of it..... (1" spacer!!) :lolgoku::lolgoku::oops:
