Using a strimmer engine

well hows it going,
Just wondering, If i was to use a strimmer engine on a small project (not a go kart) would i need to restrict the throttle opening to only open 3/4 the way. I thought that if it would be at full rpm for a long period i would end up throwing the rod, or would i get away with having it at full.

depnds on the project. i'm guessing you are refering to a string trimmer? they are made to run full open with their original loads. same as chainsaws.

would you think they could run grand with a load of
25 kilograms/55 pounds?

if the gearing is right, they would run. as to whether they have enough power, your guess is as good as mine. depending on carb mounting i know a place that sells performance carbs for them. partsforscooters
