Im running a cart that weighs about 150 lb and got a pulley system with a 3 1/2 dia drive pully off engine to a 2 in dia pully on rearend . I know it is really high and not enough torque just wondering what set up is best for descent speeds. Will post ratios on tranny when I get a chance .

Figured I'd throw this out there to see what I got.

And I do not have pic capabilities sry in advance

Is this from a garden tractor? You may not need to change the ratios. But right now if the engine pulley is bigger than the axle pulley then you are overdriving it and could try swapping them around.

A bigger engine! By your figures, that's a power:weight ratio of 37.5lbs/hp without the driver; add a driver & you're looking at around 75lbs/hp (by comparison, a toyota prius is 31, a ford fiesta is 29...)

With that amount of weight, you'll need low gearing to get it to move, then your top speed will be lousy as a result...

The only other alternative is to "lighten the load"...
