So run out and replace the whole exhaust/emissions and have it inspected? You have 60 days. You should be able to get it legal in that much time.

Importation was done illegally. Imported the chassis and drivetrain separately, then put together in the US and registered as a kit car. Main importer of these only crash tested the R33 as well, and deemed the R32 and R34 similar enough not to need to crash them as well. US Gov disagrees, says because of the above facts, all R32's, R33's, and R34's will be confiscated.

To the government, these are just contraband.

Fact: USEPA blows.

Fact: USDOT blows.

If the government can't make extra money from it, it's illegal.

If the government can't make extra money from it, it's illegal.

Fact: If it was that simple, they'd just apply a heavy levy to it, and anyone willing to pay it could drive one.

Fact: Prostitution and drugs could be taxed, too, if it was just about money. It's not.

In California it is ALL about money! They're in so much debt that they sell "medicinal pot" to just about anyone with back pain to get out of a huge hole.

At risk of ripping the lid off a massive can of worms-

Legalize it completely, regulate it, tax the crap out of it. There's your revenue.
And for the record, no, I don't...

Legalizing it would cause the novelty to wear off. Then just treat it like alcohol.
And for the record, no, I don't...

You can't legalize pot. I'll tell you why.

Because pot as it stands right now works. If you want it, you can get it, and it's cheap. Legalizing it would do very little for the coffers.

Also it isn't socially acceptable yet, imagine going to the grocery store and seeing packs of joints advertised next the the cigarettes.

There's more detail to it all, but it works right now. I did but don't anymore, and California passed a law last year stating anything under an ounce is a misdemeanor with a 100 dollar fine.

That has acctually helped alot with court costs.

How can you honestly tax a cash business that runs from street corners, which isn't conducted by those of the highest morals?
