You can get a hall effect foot throttle for like $20 on TNC :)

How much were the reversing throttles?

By the way - you might want to check into those more special types of controllers, which recharge the batteries when the motors are free-rolling (like after a nice long speed run or going down a hill)

Could come handy.

You should mount a small solar panel on it!
They sell the small battery charger ones for fairly cheap.

300ma is really useless. I charge a 6V 8.5aH (4aH and 4.5aH 6V batteries) with a 250maH charger. In 24 hours it doesn't even reach 50% charged.

It'd be great if you leave it out alot, but still, these are 50aH batteries :roflol:

what about running a dc generator off of one of the wheels or a belt directly from the motor? endless play time!

brushless motors though higher in price are very efficient. a motor being turned produces juice or so i have heard.

A controller w/ regenerative capability charges the batteries when you are coasting or braking and would be a better choice if you wanted to extend your time.
