"Unrestricted but quiet" sound test on YouTube.

Uploaded sound test of my so-called "quiet but unrestricted" exhaust system to YouTube when it wouldn't upload here. Type into YouTube search bar: "quiet but unrestricted" and it will be the first thing that pops up. Says "Proving my "quiet but unrestricted" claim." Don't forget to read the description underneath the video part. Bonus: Found out that there had been an exhaust leak from a big crack in the header tube/exhaust flange weld when recorded, and it's still quiet, and mercilessly overpowered.

I for one am happy, and dig the snoot. Haha.

I need one for a Predator 420 with a 3 stage header. That thing is annoyingly loud.

Well since I since I more or less just got a free 16hp Vanny, I guess once I get my hind end going on my project, I may look into using this design, but with dual pipes.

Dual pipes for dual cylinders....

Kartorbust, you made me think on that dual pipe plan of yours. Don't know what a 16hp Vanny is, but if it's a 2-cylinder thing I only just now consider how smart that would be to use 2 pipes, if you mean 2 completely separate exhausts. With a 4-stroke only pressurizing gases into the exhaust space about 25% of the time, my design uses the other 75% to spread out into the huge space and drastically drop off the pressure accordingly. I can see how 2 separate exhaust strokes into the same space would likewise drastically negate that ability to depressurize. Smart thinking on your part.

It's a Briggs and Stratton 479cc 16hp v-twin, two cylinders in a V. Yes I was saying dual exhaust pipes, one for each cylinder, as that is usually less restrictive than doing 2 pipes into one. However, since I'm going to be building mine to register it for off roading in Nebraska, it needs to have I think it's a registered Spark arrestor, so that may end up being restrictive. Worse comes to worse, I'll just get dirt bike exhaust, or different engine...if I cannot legally use an industrial engine.

Sounds like real big fun....

Wow! Y'all sure have some fun toys! Not considering going that big myself due to the costs, but sure do wish y'all a lot of safe fun times with those big wheelie factories. My next build will be another hot-rodded up Predator, but on a dual-purpose kart with sliding seat position (wheelies or speed) and switchable ground clearance (pavement or rough off-road) hanging from air shocks. The exhaust on that one will have greater expansion space than my first (92 cu. in.), something really huge, like maybe a 5-gallon metal paint can. Racing-capable stealth muffling. Mount it on top of the roll cage.
