Unknown Chinese Kart

Ok guys, just drove over six hours to get this kart. I especially like the horizontal shocks and how the roll cage is designed. All AI has been able to tell me is that it’s a Chinese kart. The vin stamp is: Suzhou Industries CYATV4W54YH 2228 10/2004. Any guesses the make, model, and manufacturer?

I tried my Google fu on that and came up empty handed.
Found the manufacture but nothing specific.

Kinda neat design with the rear shocks. I agree.

Not often that you get a VIN ID tag on a kart, riveted-on no less. You answered your own question better than anyone here can.

Interesting kart though, it looks domestically made and not an overbuilt, let’s-add-one-more-piece-of-tubing Chinese buggy that we’re used to seeing. The year 2004 though sort of tells it all, maybe. It is emulating a domestic yard kart from the tail end of the domestic yard kart era. Taiwan did the same thing in the late 70s, started importing domestic style minibikes.

6 plus hours huh? That’s dedication but must have been a heck of a bargain.

The horizontal rear shocks are kind of cringe, but get ‘er running and tell us how effective they are.

I paid $200. That’s my sweet spot for “bargain” karts.

I believe the plate reads "Suzhou Industrial Park" which is a manufacturing hub in China with a history of ties to Singapore and Taiwan. I imagine these things like giant, decentralized "factories" littered with small shops building all kinds of soon to be landfill in the USA. One day a little shop with a tubing bender and some surplus tubing just started cranking out go karts. A little while later, it stopped. The end.

You have an idea because he told and showed you in the first post. It’s a Suzhou Industries kart. Everyone here cares about kart ID and you are always a Negative Nancy about it. Most want to know if it’s rare and valuable and if it is, they waste no time in wrecking it.

On second thought, it has a longer name on the tag. It says Yonghe Motors on it and that opens up another can o’ worms. Seems they’re primarily an engine maker so maybe we can conclude that it was a joint operation between Suzhou Ind and Yonghe Motors....?

As soon as it‘s determined to be a Chinese kart, you really cannot find much more info after that. A real pity, that.
