Unique Go Kart(s)

I'm just getting into this building your own Go Kart phase, and i am wanting to build a Go Kart for myself and my nephew. Like me and any vehicle i've ever had, i'd like my go kart to be some what unique. i'm not sure if what i'm looking at doing will be possible, or even if it's been done, but does anyone know if you can make a go kart manual? Like you would have a manual transmission in an actual car. If it can be done, how would i go about doing it, and is it a wise idea to do?

You could by using a motorcycle engine and tranny.

Look for a Lifan engine online. That will have gears. The sprocket setups will be different than what we're usually using, just FYI.

A manual transmission might work, but it might also bog the engine down.

for the clutch you can use a handle bar like stearing and put the clutch lever on it and make a shifter shaft that goes all the way to the back using pivot arms.

On another thread, there was like a 100CC engine with a CVT (transmission)...

If you want it to be unique, then make a unique frame.
