unfinished 49cc CVT home built from junk pocket bikes

Here's the homebuilt that I put together from pocket bike parts. 2 pocket bikes, one engine for $30. I used the engine mounting plate and wheel assemblies from one bike. The handlebars are from a load of 3-wheeler parts I bought from a guy on craigslist. I cut the exhaust pipe right after the first bend, then added a piece of metal hydraulic line from my backhoe, plus an old muffler off a Briggs riding lawnmower engine. Found the CVT on ebay. I know, the bracing on the front fork is excessive, but plans kept changing...

All it needs is a seat, brake cables, a tank mount (that's a one-quart aloe vera juice bottle fuel tank) and a coat of paint. Other than that it works great.

Hey bro, you know you got that engine mounted backwards, right? Chain's supposed to be on the other side ....... Ah, hell, if it works okay, no big deal. Great build, kinda goofy and fun. I'd leave the aloe vera bottle, or find something else equally outrageous.

Looks like you and I have a different gearbox. You said that's a CVT? The one I have must just be a different style transmission from an X-1 pocketbike. Either way, it still works well for the application.

The output on the CVT spins the opposite way. You have to flip the engine around to make it go forwards!
