I started working on this go kart, all homemade, and did not have the time or resources to finish it. Built great and professionally fabricated.
-Professionally welded steel frame

-Working pedals
-Seat
-Semi-complete steering column
-Professionally welded spindles that turn excellently
-Engine not included
-4 ball bearing wheels
-Professionally welded back axle

Call for more pics/info and we'll make a deal............

I'll be the first to admit I'm no kart expert; in fact, my ignorance has been exposed on this very forum. But this kart reassures me that maybe there's hope for me yet. This guy's design actually worries me a bit - one that he wouldn't scratch this design while it was still on paper (if it got even that far), and then think that it'd be worth anywhere near 190 bucks to someone else. Dude's got a short-to-ground somewhere in the main harness, if you follow me.

My hope is that our designer is 12 years old and not licensed to drive or registered to vote.

Furyus, fear not, there is hope for you. Your "ignorance" is negated by this very forum- Jump in, ask questions, learn things- That's the name of the game.
Paper? I think the only paper used in designing this "kart" was for snot removal.
There's a vid floating around on Youtube- it's been posted on this forum- of a wooden kart built at least as poorly as this one, and no- the designer was not 12 years old. Mid-thirties I'm guessing, and living proof that a little (very little) knowledge is dangerous!

My friend called him, he sounds like hes about 13. Judging by the dimensions, it looks like he couldnt even cut the plywood. Building a kart does take skill. Its not a good project for someone without some common sense. When i started building my kart, i hardly knew anything about go karts. Luckily, i had a friend who raced karts and his dad help me out. A go kart is a good beginner project, but only if you have some guidance. It obvious this kid didnt

If it's a kid, at least he's trying, and you're right, not much guidance there. He should maybe scratch the future goal of mechanical engineer and focus on his strengths - sales, maybe?

That larger picture makes my day, that is my new background on my desktop.

Heh, it really is a shame, that is a very nice engine.
