is it worth to repair a tyre and is there any point in doing it. I have a tubeless tyre, with slits in the sides and i was set on buying a new tyre, but the best price i can get is 80dollars and 95 to ireland. so i was thinking on repairing the tyre, can it be done?

There is not tube, so its not a tube repair, although i could place a tube in it and seal up the tyre. Any help on this is much appreciated.

Depends on what you mean by "slits". If there's a small cut or two, they can be patched. Another option is putting a tube in. If the rubber has degraded and is literally cracking apart, it's shot, forget it.

I know that my local hardware store does mower repair and such and has a crate of old tires to be recycled sitting out back. People put on new tires every spring the guys say and we all know how much grass wears tires, I make some good finds. If the crate is overflowing I just talk to the guys and they say if you can find 'em take 'em. Sometimes its a few bucks to cover recycling costs of others but it's way cheaper than new ones. Just look around, hardware stores, trash, CL, it's amazing what people don't want.
