A while back I started buying busted carts and bikes and stuff to fix them and have some fun toys for me and my two kids. Well one of them was a race cart from some kid who neglected it pretty bad as well as it being his "learn to weld" project. I got it for a steal and didn't really have any plans for it right away (wanted to get my sons cart running first)
Well my daughter (she has her own cart too) told me she didn't really want to drive by herself and she'd rather have a two seat cart to be able to drive with me like at the family fun centers.
The race cart is the widest thing I've got and low and behold it came with a pretty busted up honda gx240 with a CVT type transmission thingy.
I went back online and found a dude selling some buggy seats and they fit (barely and look quite odd) but hey whatever it's for me and my daughter and will be a blast.
I got a rebuild kit for the motor and am currently working on getting it ready. motor issue thread
The plan is to get it all working, then make a body of some sort to make it look cool again. I can't stand when stuff doesn't look cool LOL. function over form first and always, but why not look good doing it.
Anyways on to pics......
Like I said, the kid who had this cart hacked it all to pieces and learned to weld getting it back together. Apparently one time while "drifting" it the left front wheel just broke off. I have no idea why he didn't go back and get the wheel, but whatever. His solution was to put this pile of crap together with a riding lawnmower wheel and some random scrap metal?
How it should be......
The "FIX" ?
If anyone knows where I can get a proper spindle setup, please please please let me know. This simply will not do. I was thinking of calling a fun center to see if I can cut up one of the old junkers LOL.
If I can't get one I'll make one, I'd just rather not if I don't have to.
I don't care about the wheels/tires. The plan is to cut some adapters to run golf cart tires and adjust the gearing. Like I said this is a fun cruiser for me and my daughter to ride around along side my son on his cart.
Updates to come
