We have two falcon buggies with the 150cc clone engines. last Saturday we were at the river having a blast, doing multiple water crossings (normally without any issues) when buggy #1shuts down in the middle of a crossing, no sputter, spitting or coughing, just instant. It turns over no problem but wont fire up. Within a matter of seconds buggy #2 cuts off (but it restarts unlike the first one) drives out of the water and my son shuts it off while we are hooking up a tow rope to buggy #1 that wont restart.
Then when its time to start my parade of shame back to the parking area with buggy #1 buggy #2 will not restart!, wont even turn over. The main fuse was blown, we replaced it and it turns over but still wont start.
Both buggies had to be towed about 2 miles, one by my friend with his quad and the other by some drunk guy in a jeep! (I felt really bad that I didn't have a beer to thank him with but I don't think he noticed!)

Buggy #1 - is getting spark but wont fire up.
we pulled the carb and drained it, put it back on but have not tested it yet because the spark plug broke off in the head!

Buggy #2 no spark, changed the plug, no spark, swapped out the coil, no spark, swapped the cdi and no spark.

We were told that the stator (not sure if I spelled that correctly!)
has gone bad on both buggies?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

yea water in the electrics for sure

the stator is just basically the elertrcity maker

u shouldnt need it
as long as the battery is good it should run
till the battery dies

a clone engine isnt enough detail
what sort of clone
lifan
gy6
pics will help

if its getting spark then its the carb thats causing issues
may have got water in the fuel
how the **** did u break the plug in the head
thats the first iv ever heard of that
hopefullly its just the ceramic that broke not the steel nut head and thread

buggy two
is the cdi getting power
has the coil got power
is the coil grounded(shouldn't be)

Its the gy6 150cc clone.

The plug should be an easy fix, the threaded portion is in the head still but the rest of the plug came out so getting an easy out in it should be easy. I was putting the plug back in and over tightened it after zapping the crap out of myself checking for spark without paying close enough attention to where I had my hands while holding onto something that puts out a million volts!
the batteries are fine, no problem turning the engines over at all.

For the one getting spark, it's the carb or air cleaner keeping it from starting.....
For the other, kinda sounds like you fried the stator. Check it for continuity using a multimeter.....

The thing with the stator is, it's not just a stator; in most cases, the stator unit also contains the magneto pickup &, unfortunately, can't be replaced on its own...

Here is a troubleshooting checklist to help find the problem with the no spark machine...
