well the gx390 (11.7hp) is not a shifter, so i'm guessing you plan on buying two of the clones (they are the ones on sale) and having both drive a common shaft that goes into a tranny? if so i don't see why not, biggest problem would be getting the carbs to open the same amount, and finding a suitable tranny. what would this go on, would have huge amounts of torque!

i was just gunna have the engines centred over an axel and have the axel being driven by centrifugal clutches. I friend of mine just did this with two gx200 clones and its fricken amazing.

k by shifter i mean like its not offroad. I don't know how else to describe it besides saying it has no suspension and is low to the ground

Um, i believe that would be a street kart. However, what would happen if you had 2 engines, each with a clutch, but with 2 different ratios? One engine is your "low gear", the other is your "high gear".

Interesting notion. The hardest part would be finding a way to regulate the throttles. You'd have to throttle up the first to near peak speed, then drop it to idle while throttling up the second engine. Simplest method would be two accelerator pedals. The real question is- is it worth the effort?

for throttle i would suggest you just do what ever russ did, prob just link both engines up to one cable,

as for low gear engine and high speed engine, i think with 2 gx390's, one gear would be plenty, lol. i bet its actually cheaper this way compared to getting a 24hp engine

i changed my mind. Im gunna try and build a offroader again from scratch! don't know how im gunna build independant front suspension and other stuff like that but I be trying htis in th enear future! 24hp and 50 ft/lbs of torque is gunna be one fun machine!

draw up a sketch of what your thinking of making, try and make it detailed, as you design you should search the internet and find parts and dimensions of parts, or make a simple sketch, get some key components, and start building it around you and the engine.. standard parts would be bushings a-arms, tie rods, steering rack, spindles, ball/helm joints, shocks wheels, maybe brakes, steering wheel, steering shaft, maybe steering u joint, hardware, and a frame to put it on. i forget something?
