What is the best tube bender to buy that will not break the bank (including all the dies and other optional equipment needed) for fabrication of a cart/buggy? Someone told me you could get a Pro-Tools 105 in the $2-300 range and initially it looks like it but once you add on the components it gets much more. Although I am not really sure which components are needed/good to have?

Pro tools or JD squared are good brands. You can get away without a hydraulic press, and bolt the thing on a stand, which is bolted to a concrete floor and use a long lever to make the bend. As far as dies go, they are pretty expensive, but you only need to get the die that you are going to use (no sense in buying a bunch of them). So figure out the tubing diameter, and get a die for that.

Speedway Speedy Notcher Tubing Notcher is decent (dont get the harbor freight notcher, they are crap).

If you are worried about money for tools to build a buggy, then you might want to figure out the actual cost before you even think about making one.

Tube Bender

Not really worried about the cost as much as what to get. For example, do i get the stand they sell with it,etc??

Most importantly, don't be confused between a tube bender

& a pipe bender...

Some have successfully used a pipe bender but, they were using thick wall material; with thin wall tube, you end up with kinked tube, not bent tube
