I need some advice from those who have done this before. First, know that I bought the go kart with out an engine, but it did come with the torque converter and belt.

1 - Is there supposed to be so much play in the driver. The belt looks too thin.
2 - The driven looks like it's installed backwards. Why? It looks like everything is going to pull the belt cock-eyed.

Is that a 40 series? I think driven is mounted the other way....
Edit
The belt you have is for a 40/44 series tc, with a 7&1/2" driven. It should be 7/8" wide at the top. It is the same as Comet #203784A. The center distance between clutches is 7&7/8"....
That kinda looks like a 30 series driven....

It's installed correctly. The yellow spring is for that orientation of the 40 series driven. Just need a new belt and cleaning.

Thanks guys. I measured the belt and it is worn down to less than 3/4". A new one is ordered and on it's way... 7/8" is going to make a big difference.

I also removed the driven pulley and cleaned it up. I still need to do the same with the driver.

I've looked all over and cannot find an alignment diagram for my set up. I've found ones with the driven pulley flipped around (red spring), some for the 30 series and 20 series, but none for a 40 series with the driven pulley reversed (yellow spring).

The pic in the first post has the motor only C-clamped to the mount. I ordered the same size belt, so I understand that my distance will be 7 7/8" center to center, but I'm concerned about my left to right measurement. I want to get that correct before I drill the holes to permanently mount the motor.

That's the long way of asking, How is this supposed to be aligned?
