Trying to make an exhaust that rumbles.

Alright guys, I wanna make my engine rumble like an old truck. I've tried a few things, but all i can do is just weaken the sound. I wanna make her rumble real loud ya know, give her some toughness instead of some little iddy-bitty puff-puff sound.

Get an old truck engine... Just kidding, what type of exhaust do you have on it now? if you had a straight pipe unmuffled that may work. Or if you can find a motorcycle exhaust, they probably make ones to produce specific sounds.

I just got a regular straight pipe. but it dont rumble enough. like i wanna know if theres a way to build the piping up from large pipe to small pipe and make it sound nice.

I don't think you really want it to go into a smaller pipe.

That's a Briggs muffler on the end of a pipe. They make two sizes. Use the bigger one.

Using a muffler that is bigger than intended/required for the particular motor will generally give you a nice rumble/throaty sound. Plus stay free-flowing.

i have a mild mod 200 cc clone. i bought a diy pipe from akg, an rlv silencer, then went to autozone and boug a flexible exhaust pipe hat fit over the rlv. it growls!
