You are both correct, a series 20 can be inboard or outboard mounted but you have to specify which way you are going to mount it because the spring is wrapped in just the opposite direction. The correct way to mount a series 20 is with the ramps facing inboard towards the engine . If you want to mount it outboard then you MUST float the driven at least 3/8 to a 1/2" on the jackshaft so the pulley with remain lined up with the driver on the engine which cannot move. We sold them both ways and that is why they are marked inboard mount or outboard mount because it would make a difference. The problem with float the driven everyone thinks a wet lube is good be it oil or grease. Not in this case they attract "sh_t" which will quickly eliminate the float. That is why a dry moly lube was sold by Comet and Max-Torque. The driver and the driven require a dry lube. Nothing screws them up quicker than oil or grease.
