just wanted to say thanx again to all the great advice Ive gotten recently on here....
Also I just got my controller and pedal wired up and went for my first ride.
motor is a 90V 21A treadmill motor
Im powering it from 48V (4x12V 10Ahr batteries)
currently a 10T -70T setup on a fixed axle with 14" tires.
drives just fine, perfect for teaching my kids, does about 10-12mph on the street, draws around 30-40Amps on takeoff, at full speed cruising it uses about 7-8A.
the power isnt extreme by any means, but I was able to drive in the grass just fine and even slighly uphill with no problems and Im about 190lbs.
I probably use this setup for awhile and then switch to dual 1000W motors down the road...
now I just need to get better brakes on this thing
question:
should I be concerned about the 30+ amps if its just for a few seconds? (I havent actually floored it from standstill, afraid of burning something, should I be?)
