Okay guys, I have a major question for you. I have a Foote 3 speed + Reverse tranny. I'm thinking about building a buggy with my 4-wheeler rear end. It has 22" Mudders on it. Input and output for the trans are bout 10 teeth. The axle has a 60T sprocket on it. My clutch is a 11T. So my question is, would this transmission add torque or not?

as far as my understanding, the more gears you have, the more torque you feel throughout the speeds because you can keep the rpms within the powerband. so if you dont have any gears then your torque is all low rpms and low speeds, but if you have gears then you can keep it in the highest torque region of the motor, even when at higher speeds where normally the motor would be at the rev limiter. so it will most likely effect speed more than torque, but you will definitely feel a difference in that "head snap" torque feeling. hope this helps.

so your saying that the gear ratio you have is too low, and you want to make it higher for more torque less top speed?

You have it swapped around. My Gear-Ratio is too high, giving me no torque. Higher Gear ratio=Less Torque. Im just wondering if this tranny will give me more torque.

oh my bad haha. i keep thinking higher numbers are higher gear ratio but thats backwards. i will do some research on that transmission and get back to you

Under the circumstances, it is guaranteed to help. That said, I can't guarantee the tractor tranny will hold up under the abuse. Do the race guys use them? I have no experience with them.

Im not gonna use mine under super pressure, but i will abuse it a little. Foote are made by Peerless so i think it should be fine.
