Trainer cart

Built another cart for my grandkids...made this little trainer until they move up to the full size.
Started with a $40 Go kart carcass & $50 broken pressure washer.
Honda GC190 , homemade pipe
Governor removed,jet kit

That's indeed a cool idea!
I mean a radio remote kill switch does the exact same thing without adding your body as a weight..
but it's certainly more fun for you


I agree however, that a steering override would make sense to incorporate,
add a second pitman arm (180° offset to the one you have)
and you can run your controls under the floor pan to the trainers seat.
but at least I'd added a second brake pedal, just in case killing the engine doesn't stop the kart quick enough to avoid a wall

PS but I like the idea of thinking behind that.. I mean why look at the kids riding the go kart when you can ride with them instead

yes when I start modifying I dont always think to far ahead...but I didnt want to make it like thise old driver training cars.....and I do want to put the remote kill switch on one of the upgrade carts they will work there way up to......I have beenvery fortunate to find these kart carcasses for $40-60 bucks and bought a few old pressure washers $40-50 ea snagging at least 2 hondas.....this will keep me busy awhile...This is a little different then my golf cart builds

Im trying out some $4.99 HF specials.....Somewhere else I read that they hold up for a while if you run an additional weld around the bearing base...wich I did....as far as the plastic style tires will see how long they last....lol

Testride complete

Well first outing was pretty good trained my granddaughters...a lil scary....leaning into the turns and sitting up high....kept my hand ready for kill switch...may look into adding steering control to the rear and maybe widening the front end...as you can see in a big guy.....pushing 340lbs and my driver at least 85lbs....but that kart will move....and surprisingly the $4.99 HF tires n rims held up
