So my son messed up his 196 cc clone that came in his go kart. I have been seeing that the predator engine is a direct swap. Can anyone help me out and let me know for sure if the electronic start and the transmission with reverse will work with predator engine?

The Predator 212 is a good option. Send pics of the transmission and electric start and we can see what's going on. I'm assuming they'd work, but I'm no pro.

Yes, it should bolt in. Might need to change a few bolts.

I was reading about the low oil sensor and rewiring the cutoff button on dash. Anything else?

Disconnect the yellow wire at the back of the engines for hook up your kill switch where the yellow wire used to be. The electric start will no longer work. However there is a rumor there is a kit to put one on. You would also need to add a charging coil and flywheel. Sorry I missed the electric start part in your post.

Can I not use flywheel off current engine? And not really worried about electric start so is charging coil necessary? Basically I just want to be able to use the gearbox so my son has reverse and then a kill switch on dash

No, different brand engines use different flywheel tapers. The gear box and kill switch should not be a problem.

Is the flywheel available at harbor freight with engine if not can you point me in the direction of what I need? I have no clue about any of this

You did not read far enough in the thread and follow the link to Vpower. In reading the description for both the hemi and non hemi engines they both come with flywheels.

Ok so I read the article and what I'm understanding is if I don't want the electric start and no lights all I do is get the predator motor and the flywheel that comes with it will work and the current gear box in go kart is compatible with engine and everything will work with what comes with engine minus rewiring cut off switch right?

Yes, the Predator from Harbor Freight comes complete and should be compatible. If you want electric start then you would need the VPower kit also with charging coil.

When wiring that killswitch into the low oil sensor's yellow wire like Denny explained, remember that the Predator grounds out the spark to kill the engine. You need for your killswitch to be well grounded, and to shunt to engine ground when you hit it.
