What would cause the stock LED headlights to fail on a Trailmaster Mid XRX?

I'm on my second set and these have now failed, too. I measure 12V at the connector, so I don't suspect an over-charging issue.

Are these simply that weak? Or are they prone to failure because of poor quality?

I'd consider moving to more-reliable aftermarket units. What would you suggest?

Check your ground wires. One could be loose or corroded causing a voltage spike or drop off. Wiggle the connectors while they're on & see if they flicker. I've purchased these at Go Power Sports. I sold the karts I installed them on so I can't tell you how robust they are.

Thanks for the reply, Kartteck.

I checked power at the pigtails and I'm seeing a pretty consistent 12V at the headlights.

I also checked the ground and it appears that TrailMaster runs the battery ground to the engine block. There's also a green wire from the accessory wiring harness that's connected to it. While I found the Electricity Principle Diagram in the TrailMaster manual, it doesn't show wiring for (or even makes reference to) the headlights...

Looks like that green wire from the accessory wiring is coming from the key switch. There should be a toggle switch at the dash for the headlights, make sure the wires connected to it are secure. Not much to the system, maybe a higher quality light would be better. Talk to these people:
