Sorry for the book here, but I'm a newbie to go karts.
Hello. I'm new to the forum. Looking to buy a go kart and looking for some guidance. I am very familiar with the atv area but these go karts seem to be in a world of their own and I have no local dealers to get info from. Seems like most of it is online buying.
Uses of machine. Originally started looking so I had a cheap side x side for myself and my young daughter. She will not be driving. Then I started realizing that these may be fun for myself as adult too. I would like to use in woods trail riding. These come with a hitch for small yard work tasks. Hunting with a buddy.
Other than quality (which I know nothing about because these brands are all new to me), I am concerned about getting up hills and over logs in the woods. Not that I want to do hill climbing, but sometimes you just need to get up a hill to continue the trail.
My budget is about $2,000. I was originally comparing the Kandi 150XTX and Trailmaster 150XRS. They seem to have much more mechanical advances over the $1,500 machines. At this point I am looking at the Kandi because specs state it has more torque which I like (of course gave up a few mph though).
Is the Kandi a good machine to go with for what I want to do? If I got the Trailmaster is there a way to get more torque? Are there mods to be had on these machines? Is there a better brand in this price range to do what I want to do? Will I be able to go up hills with a 150cc?
