Well after I finish my mini bike, I am thinking of crap. I have a jd111 lawn mower. I got a snowmobile undercarriage from a freind. He said I could have a track for it to. It is a steel cleated arctic cat track. It has some damage but it would cost no money to fix it, just some time. I could make a half track, have the snowmobile track powered by the transaxle via chains or pulleys. They I would weld up the frount bar tilt thingy for the front tires and it will turn by 18in front tires. Any comments? Suggestions?

I would love to see that- I say go for it!
I'm concerned it may not steer well, but you won't know until you try.
If it works, it'll be nearly unstoppable!

Yea. It has 50 10in steel cleats, I plan to use it for plowing dirt. We have another junk snowmobile that has 14.5in long cleats and the track is wider. I am trying to get it for free.
While on snowmobiles, I just bought a 1978 arctic cat JAG 340cc snowmobile for $120, runs and drives with a decent track. But im driving that one next winter.
Below is what there are 50 of on the track
But I gotta get my fat tire bike finished first, to many projects at one time is never good !

I don't see why not!
BTW that mower looks very familiar! I picked up a 112L (same style) last year and cleaned 'er all up. Those decals seem to be tough to find so I used some newer ones. I say do it and paint it up like mine, it'll look great if it works!

When I go my john deere it got beat to crap. They were pulling scrap medal with it. The original motor blew up so they put a tecumseh on it and cut a hole it the hood, scrapped the mower deck, blew up the tecumseh, it was horrible. I got it for 10 dollars and laid a coat of primer on it.
