Hi,

I am building an electric go kart for my sons (3 and 5). Actually, they want it to be "a police car with a shark mouth". And it will be!

I am using a Kettcar as a base. I have a wheelchair motor, and a controller (eBay) with a 5Kohm turnpot control. Now I need a pedal throttle.

I could use a curtis-style throttle, but a little pricey.

I was wondering if anyone has used a toy car throttle. I found these Peg Parego pedals. Style 1 and Style 2. Also, this pedal from a Razor Crazy Cart.

Here's a site with lots of pedals!

They are much cheaper. Low quality, I know, but maybe good enough. Does anyone have any experience with something like these? Hard to tell if they are Hall Effect or Resistive type throttles.

I'm going to try to email these sites and see if they know the answer. I kind of doubt it, they just supply the parts.

Thanks!

Cosmo

Not to mention there has to be a lever (or papa is in trouble) that opens and closes the shark mouth.

Good to know about the toy throttles. Really? No speed control? I'm even more glad we are making our own.

As for hall effect throttles, i need the other kind which is a 5k turn pot, like this Curtis FP-6. I will probably end up with a knock-off from ebay like this "Curtis FP-6 style".
