So im starting on my first kart project. Well I shouldnt call it a project as the kart is complete, but stock. Im looking to upgrade etc, and have some fun. I have a stock 6.5 hp clone engine. I was looking to swap out the air filter and exhaust...Some of the pipes I was looking at say they are for a "modified" engine...Could a pipe like this be slapped on with no modifications to the engine?

So, which should one do first, Exhaust or Air Filter? Or should they be done at the same time. Does it even matter? Thanks

The stage 1 motor from NR has exhaust, air filter, 18lb valve springs, full removal of governor, advanced timing, and rejetted carb. According to them itll give you 8.5hp. Thats a great starting point, especially if thisll be your first beefy go kart build. What kinda gearing setup did you decide on?
