I just bought a TAV2. Any tips on setting it up an using it? Something you wished you had known. Tell me about how my kart is going to be 10 times funner now.

EDIT: Also, is it possible to "burn out" a TAV2 like you can do to a centrifugal clutch. Can a TAV2 handle moving a heavy kart with two guys uphill?

make sure your CD is correct when you install it. your kart will now be able to climb most every hill. it can now (if your kart was a 2-seater)carry 2 people alot easier.
make sure you put the belt on the right way.

Well, it should have a back plate so your CD is set. The flat side of the belt goes towards the motor. Also, make sure that your 10 tooth sprocket is between the driven and the backplate or else you risk over torquing the backplate and bending it.

i suppose if all the dry grease stuff in the driver wore away you could run into problems, but just make sure you maintain it properly and it will outlast a cent clutch with ease, and have a good re-sale value, plus it allows you to use low throttle and move at low speeds, and obviously it has wayyyyyy more torque.

on my GTC TAV2 i used #40 chain on the #41/#40 sprocket, this caused the chain to be able to slide over and eat away at the back plate. so i would suggest either using #35 chain, or #40 with a #40 only sprocket. you could use #41 too, but its not as good as #40.

I have #420. My only issue is that I am unable to move the axle sprocket inside far enough for it to fit the Torque Converter. I will probably have to do some operation on the motor mount to get it to fit right.
