Torque converter speeds

I am thinking its time to step my game up and get my 6.5 clone cart a TC. I keep using the speed calculator to see my speed with different gear setups, but what about with TC. Can a bunch of you all share you setups (gear ratios, tire sizes, speeds) so i will know what to expect from my TC. Thanks and if this has been covered before feel free to show me where.

The TC may not give you much extra speed but it will increase your low end torque as well off road performance.

To figure your gear ratios I believe you just multiply them together, for example, trans with .5:1 overdrive and 6:1 final reduction=3:1 gearing.

So the common TC have a final "high gear" of .5:1?

No, the newest Tav2's can achieve .9:1 wide open. But 1:1 is the most common "high gear." The 40 series with a 40 driven clutch can reach 1:1 but a 40 driver with 40 driven can get 1.24:1.
