Well, before you buy ensure that your motor has a 3/4" shaft as opposed to a 1" shaft. Make sure it fits.

you are correct a torque converter will improve you power and speed. the link that you had to a torque converter was only one part of a torque converter. a full torque converter includes two pullys and a jack shaft. the links i gave you in my last post were for kits that included all of the parts requred for a tc, these kits are the easyest to add on to yourkart because they simply bolt onto your engine(pics3&4). your other option is to buy both the driver and driven pullys the belt and a jackshaft sepratly and weld them onto your frame(pics 1&2). if you get a tc make shure you actually have room to mount it. now if your getting a tc just for more power for hills and acceleration then you wont have to change your gear rateo and you will have vastly improved power and still he same top end speed. if you are getting a tc for impoved speed then you can lower the # of teeth on your rear sprocket by 10 to 30 teeth this will give you better top speed with the same or better power but remember the more you lower the # of teeth on on your rear sprocket the faster you go but the less power you. well good luck

He is 110% correct. You need the entire assembly and then it's just what chain size you prefer. I'd shoot for the #40 chain just because it's got a large strength advantage.
