I know this is probably stupid simple but I'm new and can't figure it out from google or YouTube videos. And I'll delete this thread once I learn how, my question is, how does the torque converter the driver and driven attach to the motor shaft and jackshaft? I'm pretty sure it's a keyway but on the driven is it a keyway too? Or do I need to buy collars to keep the driven in place? Something like the link below on a 3/4 jackshaft. Thanks- jack

My driven has a keyway, and so does the drivens' shaft that came with the TC.

If I am reading the question correctly, the keyway you are referring to is generally a groove in the shaft and the driver/driven unit. The "key" slides into the groove. This keyway only keeps the driver/driven part from slipping or rotating at a different speed then the shaft. It does not retain or attach the convertor to the shaft. There is normally a bolt that threads into the crank shaft on the engine that retains the driver. If I remember correctly, my series 20 and 40 both have C-clips on the jack shaft to retain the driven units. If the grooves are not there for the C-clips, a couple locking collars should do just fine. All 4 of mine have 1/4 inch keyways.

Hope that made sense?
