Hi I have a term dog 3203 and I put a harbor freight 212cc predator motor on it. I put a brand new clutch on it and it burn it up, I bought another clutch and it burned up to, I live in really hilly terrain so I ordered a torque converter and I'm awaiting arrival, my question is if a torque converter will make a difference and make my go kart preform good, thanks

Yes, it will work fine. The kart originally had one on, and not a centrifugal clutch. As long as the sprockets and the diameter are original, you will be fine. Maybe post tyre diameter so we can check for you

If you have a chance to read through this, its a guys description of how he adjusted his YD 3203, Gear Ratio, and Torque Converter. He wasn't impressed by its ability (or inability) to climb hills, so he modified it a little bit,
http://www.key-ideas.com/TC-Sprocket-Change.htm

If you have the stock 20.5" "TYRES":lolgoku: on it, I would go larger than 6:1 Gear Ratio. I have a similar sized buggy with Predator 212cc. I'm going to switch my setup to
-30 Series Torque Converter w/
-8T #41 5/8" Bore "C" style sprocket with keyway
-60T #41 Axle Sprocket
-16" "TIRES":lolgoku:

I have videos posted if you want to see how "My Buggy" -NOT YD3203 - performs with
-Modded Predator 212
-30 Series TC
-6:1 gear ratio
-16" Tires

Its fun and fast!!!!!! But I want some more low end grunt because my terrain is fairly hilly as well and it takes me about a half mile to get up to 4500 RPM with the 6:1, 16" tire set up.

Hopefully this helps more than confuses:auto:

A torque converter was the original equipment for the 3203.
Run of the mill centrifugal clutches cannot handle the loads the 3203 places on it no matter what the conditions.

Hey Russ!!! How are you? People probably don't like me much on here after I watched your "Clone Killer" video. I forced them to look through pages of MS Paint Dual Engine Designs after watching:oops::lolgoku::auto::cornut:
