the driven is a tiny bit too far out (i.e. your belt is not properly aligned)
Also, although it's the correct belt obviously, it looks a tiny bit too big;
I believe your engine should move maybe 3/8 towards the seat (best measure the distance center to center (driver/driven) it must be 6-15/16 to 7 inches.
With a tiny bit of love and just a few bucks in new parts (where necessary, maybe new bushings)
you will have a perfectly working 100% original Comet series 30 TC with a 6" driven..
exactly what you'll have buying a Tav2 kit (same driver, same driven.. different belt)
you just saved a 100 bucks at least
