I have a go-kart that has a 301cc predator engine. It looks like it has a new motor on it. It doesn't look like it has the right torque converter on it the belt doesn't touch each side or maybe something else is off. Any help would be appreciated

You have a 40 series driver, 30 series belt and 30 series driven. One of these things is not like the others. One of these things ain’t kinda the same. Can you guess which one is not like like the others? To quote Sesame Street. Put a 30 series driver and the proper Genuine Comet belt on it and you should be golden. GoKart Supply tells you how to properly measure for a belt!

So I'm guessing that the 40 series is just like the 20 series but wider. And that's what's wrong with it they torque converter or driver as you call it. By the way thank you for replying

Does it matter that the pulley on the back is v-shape and the belt on it is v-shape? So shouldn't I get a 20 series drive?

Ok, now your in trouble. You can see details i can’t because it is in front of you. New game plan time. I don’t think anyone makes a 1” driver in a 20 series. You could try Max-Torque. The owner of them is on here sometimes. See the 301 has a 1” pto shaft. Probably the cheapest, fastest and easiest fix would to be remove everything that is on there already. Buy a 30 series TAV II CVT kit for a 1” engine shaft. Slide your axle sprocket on the axle over for alignment purposes. Install the kit and ride. Go to the Jungle store and get the cheapest kit, their all the same but make sure you use a Genuine Comet belt. You’ll go through 10 or more cheap belts for every Comet one.

Having the sprocket out on the end of the Jack shaft isn't going to work. You will bend the shaft in short order. It needs to be on the inside of the driven clutch. The larger one in the back. You will need to move the axle sprocket over to line up with the new location of the drive sprocket.

After taking a better look it looks like the shaft is supported out on the end near the sprocket. If that is the case please disregard my previous posts. Just get yourself a new 30 series torque converter with a 1" driver . MOST come with a
3/4" driver so be sure to check for 1" . A so measure the diameter of the Jack shaft because they come in both 5/8" and 3 /4" so you want the driven to match your jackshaft.
