I have a new go kart. It currently has a centrifugal clutch powering 18" wheels. Now i'm deciding of switching to a torque converter. 2 questions. Is it possible to install a 13t sprocket on the TC. I have 60t sprocket on my axle. Also if it is possible, will 4.6:1 ratio work fine with the TC?

My setup until recently, was as follows-

11hp GX340, Comet 40, 17" (measured) tires, 4.8:1 final drive ratio. What size is your engine, and which CVT are you considering.

is 4.6:1 too much for a torque converter?

Well- I ran 4:1, and then 4.8:1, so, yeah- 4.6:1 will be fine for the CVT. With tires that big, it might not work out for that engine, though.

I can't remember the starting ratio for that model, but you might need to go a little deeper.
