torque converter inquiry

I have a go kart/buggy w/ a predator 6.5 using a centrifugal clutch. I just ordered a torque converter. ( the driven sprocket on the axle is rusted in place and would be a pain to move ie. blowtorch..)
Now, my question is can the sprocket on the jackshaft of the torque converter be moved to the face of the driven pulley?

Unlikely. What model CVT did you buy?

Its a China made one from ebay, just says it will replace a comet..

Yeah- probably a TAV2 knockoff. Does it a)mount directly to the engine, and b) have a plastic cover? You are very likely going to have to bite the bullet and free up that axle sprocket.

It has a mounting plate/jackshaft and does come with a cover

In the end, you'll prolly be better off getting that rusty sprocket to move on the axle shaft. There was a thread recently on penetrating oils, and iirc there's a sticky somewhere on freeing stuck parts.

I don't have a camera at the moment, and the kart is someones garage project so I cant just tell you what it is.. I am told that it used to have a 16 Hp motor on it so I am pretty impressed with the 6.5 predator engine. The chassis and motor weigh about 250 lb and I'm 180, and after cuting off alot of unnecesary weight from the frame it still pulls off around 30 to 35 mph. I have a 7:1 gear ratio with 18 in tires. When it had a 16 on it I'm sure it was a great off roader but now I just drive it in my neiborhood
