so i got my cart moving today....for a little while anyway i have a 30 series torque-a-verter and i got going down the road and the belt was fine not much torque though but good high end. I stoped at the bottom of a hill and tryed to gas it up the hill it wasnt very steep and its a hf blue clone with mods so it should have done fine but instead the belt started smoking like i couldnt see the motor anymore and the cart wouldnt move is it possible that its locked in "high" gear or is something put in wrong or what? its not the belt its brand new and its not the gearing so any ideas plez help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is your gear ratio, your weight and did you have the belt on the wrong way?

long shot but...

Have you installed the bushing in the middle of the drive pulley assembly that stops the belt rubbing on the shaft?
