Good day, i bought a Predator 420cc engine and a torque converter from a club car, my problem is that the drive pulley wont fit the pto shaft since said pto is about 4 inches long and the drive pulley bore is only less than 2 inches. I am also having a problem regarding the sprockets that i will use, said engine and TQ will be mounted on my Town & Country Golf Cart by Western a former electric powered cart to be converted to run on petrol.

Any info on what to might really help on my build, by the way i am a newbie on all of this. Thanks.

Wait- the shaft is longer than you need it? Where's the problem? Align it as needed, and locate it with some lock collars or something.

jfs,

I didn't see any pics of your transaxle PTO. But, trying to mix and match used CVT parts of different applications will be a problem for you on-going (burning belts, overheating drive or driven unit, finding the right calibration/tuning).

The Comet 40/44 series should be considered for your golf cart application. If you can measure the PTO accurately with a caliper, please provide length, diameter and keyway width and depth. Also measure the PTO thread hole depth and thread pitch. And equally important the Centers Distance (engine shaft to PTO shaft) range with the engine mounted. I will try to recommend a combination. I recently was set up as a Comet/Certified Parts dealer, and have access to some of the technical staff that can help with the more difficult applications.

Certified Parts is making the entire line of Comet and Hoffco parts, and I recommend using genuine parts and not the knock-off offshore stuff due to engineering and material differences that you cannot visually detect.
