Ok. I bought a series 40 driver (1 inch bore) and a series 40 driven clutch setup. The jackshaft I got is a 3/4 inch shaft. My question is this: Does the small side (with the spring) go toward the engine, or outboard of the engine? I have built my jackshaft support plates and I am afraid that I am gonna have to redesign it to accommodate the pulley assembly. Another question, can I take the driven clutch apart and reverse its operation? It looks like if I swap it around and reverse the spring it will work like an asymmetric pulley. Am I wrong (or drinking too much LoL)?

Here's the set up on a couple of TC's on some karts that I restored. I don't know about reversing the clutch, but some one will.

Good pics, nice looking cart. Is your clutch symmetrical or asymmetrical?

You can reverse the driven on a 40 by replacing the spring with a yellow one. I did that exact thing. I also have a spare new spring. Hit me up on IM if your interested.

the 40 series has the cam plate facing towards the engine IIRC, in stock configuration.
The 30 series is the other way round.

Nowhere above did it say if the clutches were inboard or outboard, only the rotation relative to each other :)
